​Before

​

Exfoliate: Since DHA reacts with dead skin cells, patches of dry skin may result in uneven, blotchy colouring. The day before or morning of your airbrush appointment, exfoliate your body using a loofah & BTBT’s Body Polish. After you have exfoliated, moisturize well with BTBT’S oil free moisturizer; concentrating on knees, elbows, ankles, and knuckles. Exfoliating helps to promote an even coverage and lengthens the duration of your tan. Do not use highly moisturized soap or body wash.
 

Waxing/shaving:  If you are planning to shave or wax, please do so at least 24 hours before your airbrush tan. Both of these hair removal options will also remove dead skin cells, to ensure an even tan.
 

Avoid make-up, deodorant & perfume: Some of these products may prevent the tanning solution from reacting with the skin properly and others can even cause skin to turn green! Play it safe and make sure there are no other cosmetics on your body before being airbrushed.

Immediately after airbrush tan: Wear loose, dark clothing and keep skin completely dry. Do not apply products over the developing tan. Allow tan to develop for at least 6-8 hours (over night if possible). Avoid other beauty or hair treatments while tan is developing. Avoid activities that make you perspire. Drink hot beverages through a straw, as contact with a hot cup can strip colour from around your mouth. Toothpaste can also strip colour while your tan is developing.
 

After your tan has developed: Rinse off remaining colour with warm water. Once the water runs clear, gently wash with mild soap or body wash and pat dry. To prolong your tan, moisturize diligently after your first shower and avoid exfoliating products. Use BTBT’s Mistifier for an oil free moisture mist, and Platinum Face moisturizer daily with an added tint for a great glow!
